I just realized that I haven’t done a post on shoes jet. That’s simply crazy because I love shoes so much! Who doesn’t? Shoes make you look good no matter your dress size. Let’s talk about some of the main styles out there and I’l try to comment on them as well as a self proclaimed shoe addict can.
Court shoe/Pump is a shoe with a low-cut front and usually without a fastening. However, some have an ankle strap. This style can be found with a kitten, medium or high heel. This is a true classic and an amazing investment because it will never go out of style. Also this style is my personal favorite. I’m not fond of really “trendy” shoes and wouldn’t buy anything for just one season. I own a lot of court shoes. Probably more than i should but I have them in different colors and heights. No two pairs alike.
Ballerina flats are derived from a woman’s soft ballet shoe, with a very thin heel or the appearance of no heel at all. A perfect footwear option instead of trainers if you want to feel comfortable but still need to look put together.
Slingback can be considered a type of sandal and come in a wide variety of styles from casual to dressy, with heel height ranging from none to high, heel types ranging from as thin as a stiletto to as thick as wedges and they may be either closed or open-toe.
Mary Janes are shoes with one thin strap fastened with a buckle or button, a broad and rounded toe and low, medium or high heels. I see this style making a huge comeback with the “granny-heel” trend at the moment.
Mule a French word, is a style of shoe that is backless and often closed-toed. Mules can be any heel height – from flat to high. I’m not a huge fan but I see the shoe trend reemerging and it will probably be huge soon enough.
Peep Toe is a shoe (usually a pump, slingback, bootie, or any other dress shoe) in which there is an opening at the toe-box which allows the toes to show. I find it a very cute and flirty style. A pair of peep toe shoes are a nice investment and will probably last you a long time.
Which ones are your favorite? Let me know in the comments.
